Exverse 101
Exverse is a free-to-play blockchain game bringing the first AAA first-person shooter to Web3. Founded in 2021 by Nikita Uriupin with Ooi Fei Hoong serving as CEO, Dubai-based Exverse is an AI-powered game built on the Binance Smart Chain (BSC).
Created as a game first, Exverse is free to play and allows users to register in any way they choose via email, Discord, Telegram, or with a Metamask wallet. By honing in on skill-based gameplay, Exverse removes the barriers and pay-to-play mechanics of other Web3 games, thereby asserting the power of community and genuine entertainment.
As an innovative gaming studio, Exverse prioritizes quality gameplay in a manner not typically seen among today’s Web3 games. Addressing several pain points expressed by players of Web3 games, the game emphasizes competitive mechanics, high-quality graphics and audio, and an advanced physics engine.
About the game
Exverse’s universe consists of three distinct planets, each with unique offerings for players to explore. The Battle, Social, and Quest planets cater to different play styles while remaining interconnected within a single timeline, where users compete in rounds known as seasons, which last eight weeks.
In-game planets:
- Battle Planet: The Battle Planet is where players will have access to all game modes that are based on PVP (player versus player).
- Social Planet: Is the players hub where they can socialize and network, purchase customizable spaces, create and manage guilds and participate in exclusive community events hosted by Exverse and its partners.
- Quest Planet: A planet focused on PVE elements (player versus environment) players will be able to take part in raids, seasonal quests, and other missions as a part of a team or as an individual.
Game modes:
- Player-vs-player (PvP): Includes popular first-person shooter concepts such as free-for-all, capture the flag, area domination, defend or destroy, and team deathmatch.
- Player-vs-environment (PvE): Exverse will have game modes catered to players who prefer team gameplay against computer-controlled enemies. Players participating in this game mode can earn rewards based on their overall performance, ranking, and clan ranking.
- Horde Rush: A game mode where a player must continue battling waves of AI-controlled enemies for as long as possible. The longer a player survives, the harder the game becomes and the higher the rewards are.
- Raids: Players team up with their clans to inflict damage or defeat a boss. Bosses have a global HP and all players can contribute to inflict damage. Defeating the boss leads to higher rewards, but if the boss isn’t defeated at the end of a weekly cycle, players will still receive rewards based on the percentage of damage done. Limited entries mean clans will need to be strategic in their approach to taking on the boss.
- Daily missions: Players cooperate to fight in a variety of missions to earn rewards. Some of the mission types include survival, defend, and retrieve.
With its community-centric approach, Exverse empowers players to actively participate in the creation and development of the game’s ecosystem by providing content-creator tools and design power. This means players can create and design their own worlds, compete with customized gaming, and engagements for groups or individual playstyles.
Another element that sets Exverse apart is its deployment of a unique AI-powered live communication engine with non-player characters (NPCs) to enhance in-game interactions. This AI feature will evolve continuously, particularly in the Social and Quest planets, with potential seasonal collaborations with other companies.
Development and history
The team’s experience at Exverse come from a diverse background of gaming development, working for notable studios such as Wargaming, Playsense, Holmgard Games and Darkness Squad. In late 2021, in the early stages of Exverse’s development, the team recognized the growing popularity of Web3 gaming and decided to seize the opportunity to build a high-quality Web3 first person shooter.
Built using Epic Games’s Unreal Engine 5, Exverse leverages AI and blockchain technology to provide gamers with an enjoyable, real, and immersive gaming experience. Seven months ago, the team revamped the game’s visual identity by shifting from a third-person shooter to a first-person to enhance the gaming mechanics, gameplay, and aesthetics.
The game prioritizes skill over pay-2-win mechanics, enabling players to earn rewards by staking tokens before a season’s kickoff. Top performers receive a share of profits from in-game NFTs such as cosmetics and skins.
Exverse’s tokenomics
The economy of the Exverse ecosystem is powered by its soon-to-be-launched $EXVG token and the in-game currency, EXVS.
Set to launch in April 2024, the $EXVG token will be listed on several notable exchanges. Players can use the token to enter matches, purchase premium cosmetics, and more. With a 400 million token supply, $EXVG will support the development, expansion, and growth of Exverse while rewarding the team and its early backers. Exverse will utilize a special burning mechanism to maintain or increase the token’s value — no additional $EXVG will be minted.
As the in-game currency, the only way to obtain EXVS is to play and interact with the ecosystem. Players use EXVS tokens to acquire in-game assets like skins, season passes, and exclusive content.
Exverse enables players to earn rewards by staking tokens before any game modes that will reward players. At the end of the match or game modes, only the top 10% of players in the given game mode will earn a share of the staked $EXVG, along with cosmetics and skins.
Marketplace:
One of Exverse’s primary goals is to build a bridge between Web2 and Web3 gamers. To support this objective, it has implemented a simplified process for how players can use and interact with the marketplace. In contrast to most Web3 games, players will be able to conduct transactions for NFTs, season passes via fiat payment methods.
Additionally, players will be able to convert their $EXVG earnings into coupons via the in-game marketplace which will enable them to purchase products from leading e-commerce platforms like Amazon and Grab — providing rare real-world value for in-game success.

During Exverse’s private funding round, it established several key partnerships with a diverse range of companies to ensure it has all the tools it needs to develop the strongest possible game, alongside a robust business model and marketing strategy. Notable partners include:
